Larry Edward Penley, Ph.D. is President of Thunderbird School of Global Management. He has worked as a management consultant and adviser to senior executives in the education, energy, technology and healthcare industries. A university professor of more than 35 years, he has previously served as university president and business school dean. He is a corporate board member, having served on boards in the education, software and banking industries; he now serves on the boards of two for-profit companies. His board offices have included chairman and member of governance, compensation and audit committees.
Dr. Penley writes a blog that addresses
significant challenges for the U. S. in education and energy policy. His blog's perspective comes from his education, research and sustainable energy experience.
He has a strong belief in one's responsibility to the community, having served on a variety of nonprofit boards associated with social and community welfare, education and economic development. Today he serves on the boards of the National Society of Hispanic MBAs and Catholic Healthcare West Foundation - East Valley. He is a Senior Fellow with the Center for the Future of Arizona and a member of the Rodel Charitable Foundation Advisory Council for education.
For almost 25 years, he and his wife, Yolanda Sanchez Penley, have lived in Arizona.
